Chasamba – Travels Across The Seas

Chasamba Is For Sale

Yes, it’s true; we are selling Chasamba and moving back to dry land. After being here in Puerto while fixing the gear, we have decided that we are ready for the next stage of our lives, and we are flying to India for a long overdue visit to the Himalayas. The last straw was the gear breaking, and although it is now working perfectly after being overhauled we are just fed up of the cruiser’s motto, which is’ Fixing your boat in exotic places…’
So, some lucky person will get a bargain; a cruising boat with 7 berths, ready to go, as we were supposed to, with loads of extra gear on board. This is a partial list of equipment and inventory;
Perkins 4108 engine, overhauled 2014
Battery bank- 400 amphour, new last year
solar panels- 320 watt, most new last year
2 wind generators, one new last year
sails-spinnaker with sock and pole, 90% jib, mainsail, spare mainsail, several old spare sails
wind-vane, home built but good
Raymarine 6001+ hydraulic autopilot
Garmin gps with data cable
Raymarine depthsounder new last year
loads of tools
liferaft for 8 people
2 large Philippine gas bottles
12v/24v/220v fridge

Chasamba was hauled out in August 2014 in Carmen, and we did new primer and antifouling under the waterline as well as primer and topcoat on the topsides and deck.
We are asking $35,000 for her, enquiries through the comments for this post. Don’t worry that nothing appears, comments are moderated but I see them!

Saw your beautiful boat for sale in a Php website; am stationed in Malaysia and my wife and I are looking at living aboard when we return to Cebu, probably Moalboal. Your boat being in Php already is attractive as I am not a sailor but an Offshore helicopter pilot instead, and a Dive instructor.

Could you send me some more photos of the interior setup please as I have researched the design online but it seems you have different portholes than the most 36 Van De Stadt Seal I have found

When are you leaving for India?

Wow! That will be a big change for you! I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy the next stage of your life, it sounds wonderful.
Will there be a new website to go with the change?

    Hi Jenny,
Thanks! I don’t know whether we will carry on updating or whether we will start another website. I’ll keep you updated.
